    It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of head judo instructor and co-owner of Camal Cruz Judo/Jiu-Jitsu, Sensei Anthony Camal. The only thing greater than his passion for judo was the kindness in his heart. He dedicated his life to helping others through his career in firefighting and teaching what he loved. He is survived by his beautiful family - his wife Liz, and daughters Kayla and Jaclyn. But he is also survived by his legacy, which will live on forever through his students and the countless lives he touched. He was a true champion in judo and in life. I’ve been to some of the top schools in the USA such as American Top Team in Florida and the high level instruction given by renowned BJJ black belt Jamie Cruz is absolutely phenomenal due to his patience and great communication skills which outline the fine details of a technique/sequence. Great school with an amazing staff. Our son started a few months ago and was very hyperactive and easily distracted. Sensei Camal and Sensei Cruz take their time with the students, patiently teaching them discipline and respect.
